You Should Never Believe These 5 Bizarre Truth About Custom Soap Boxes

soap boxes

Packaging is the most integral part of any business, and soap brands are no exception. Soap boxes are readily available and common due to some exclusive features and assurance to provide competitive edges. Most of the time, they get manufactured from cardboard, but the material for them may vary from product to product. Other materials that can be used in their making are bux board, E flute corrugated, and Kraft stock. No doubt, they have some excellent characteristics like sturdy design, printable texture, etc. But, these properties get too exaggerated at times that it becomes hard to believe them. Some of us even start believing the overstated truths. But in this guide, we will try to clear your concepts by examining some of these truths.

Protective on their own:

This statement about the soap packaging is only partially correct. It has tremendous strength to deal with critical loads due to its sturdier structure that is made from high-quality cardboard. But like everything, this packaging also has its limitations. It can bear the weight and loads only to some extent, and beyond that, it is likely to falter. To make it protective enough, some customizations are required. For instance, custom inserts extending to the lid of packaging need to be placed inside to enhance its stacking capacity. Similarly, the thickness of the cardboard sheets needs to be increased for imparting them more compressive and tensile strength. The size of the box also needs to be taken into account and adjusted according to the precise dimensions of soap products. One also needs to insert some paddings in the form of packing peanuts and Styrofoam to make the product protection absolute.

Always 100% recyclable:

There is no denying that soap boxes are eco-friendly and sustainable as it is made from organically sourced cardboard variants. But, the claim that this packaging is completely recyclable is not always true. During the designing process, it may get subjected to laminations and special coatings that are non-recyclable. Different types of adhesives and tapes are also used to make them a perfect fit for shipping matters. The application of these materials also tends to compromise the recyclability of the packaging. It is, for this reason, the experts recommend you ward off all the finishes and tapes before putting the box into a recycle bin. Sometimes, it is extremely difficult to get rid of all these embellishments or protective materials. So, you have to discard some parts of the box from the recycling process.

Sharp objects cannot break them:

During the shipping or transportation process, the soap packages may get exposed to several sharp objects, for instance, in case of rough handling or accidental drop. While they have sufficient strength to bear the impact, but sharp tools or objects can really make them suffer. It is not entirely true that they are resistant to sharp objects and do not wear or tear in this process. Pointy tools like knives and scissors can really deform their design and wear them apart. To make them defiant against such damage, they are required to be reinforced. For that, you need to strengthen them with an additional cardboard layer all over the design. This way, the outer layer may get damaged, but the inner layer of cardboard would remain protected. So, there would be no risk of packaged soaps getting damaged by sharp objects.

Resistant to moisture:

We all know how effective cardboard-built soap packages are for keeping the soaps protected against temperature effects. But, the statement that they are resistant to moisture on their own is partly true. The cardboard can resist the moisture only partially, and once the moisture content exceeds a specific limit, it starts absorbing the moisture. The continuous build-up of moisture then goes on to melt the packaged soaps inside. In order to make these boxes completely resistant to moisture, they need to be overlaid with PP and PE laminations. These special laminations impart a slippery texture to the packages that ward off any chances of seeping through moisture. Other than moisture, they also protect the packages from scratches and add to their flexural strength.

Visual aesthetics do not matter:

There is a common perception in the market that there is no need to design soap packages with compelling visuals. Although they have a smooth and glossy texture, it is simply not enough to grab the undivided customer attention. There is a dire need to print them with exciting color schemes and high-definition patterns to augment their visual appeal. Likewise, you need to finish them with gloss and matte laminations, gold or silver foils, and raised UV coatings. These little touches will make the project an irresistible visual impact on the retail shelves.

Soap boxes are an outstandingly canny packaging option to give your products a look and feel they really deserve. Although they are phenomenal, some of their features are not stated precisely and get exaggerated. As a retail brand, it is your right to understand some partial limitations or inflated truths of these packages. Before getting the soap boxes wholesale supplies this time, make sure you know all bizarre truths regarding them.
